When Owners and Founders Justin and Kim Buxton were searching for the “magic” name of their restaurant, they decided to name it after their son, Finn.

Thus, Finn’s Island Style was born. The vision? To blend Justin’s Cajun roots with a healthy, coastal lifestyle through food. We spoke to Joe, a long time employee, about what it means to work at a place like Finn’s Island Style.

“It’s a total lifestyle,” he says. “There is a focus on keeping the food both good and healthy.”

And the lifestyle aspect comes directly from Justin and Karen.

“Justin and Karen Buxton come from the surfing world,” Joe says. “So, staying healthy and active is a way of life”.

Only have time for one trip to Finn’s and don’t want to mess it up? The Fish Tacos are tried and true. The tacos come packed with fresh catch grilled mahi-mahi, cabbage, pico, cheese, cilantro, Valentina and white sauce. Are you in the car already?

Don’t be fooled by the surf shack aesthetic at Finn’s — the team at Finn’s is using some serious techniques. Try the Ceviche, lime-marinated seafood tossed with house-made pico and coco lime vinaigrette.

If you prefer your drinks fermented and slightly fizzy, you’re definitely in luck. Finn’s is serving up some locally brewed kombucha from Noli South. With flavors like carrot orange, hibiscus grape and ginger lime, bending your elbow has never been so smooth.

Feel free to stretch out and relax on a big comfy couch because Finn’s Island Style is located inside Little Village. Not in the know? We got you covered with our Little Village blog.
